
Upcoming events.
After the Network’s official inauguration in August 2024, members have been offered a plethora of opportunities, including an afternoon tea networking event at the Embassy of Bahrain in London, a residential trip to Jordan, and exclusive invitations to events such as the British-Kuwaiti Middle East Book Prize at Mansion House, the International Day of Tolerance at the Palace of Westminster, the launch of the Oxbridge Diplomatic Academy at the National Liberal Club, and a panel event on ‘Countering Terrorism Beyond the Battlefield’ at King’s College London. The network has also provided internship opportunities at the Embassy of Bahrain in London, and has shared opportunities for study-abroad programmes in Oman through the British Omani Society.
The Network will be providing an ever-widening range of events in the future, including panel and cultural events, workshops, careers fairs, conferences, and residential trips to the region, to name a few.

Ramadan Tent Project
The Jordan Tourism Board is sponsoring an event for the Ramadan Tent Project, at the Victoria and Albert Museum in South Kensington on Friday 14th March, with an address from the Ambassador of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Manar Dabbas.
The Jordan Tourism Board has very generously extended a limited number of places for members to attend this event, which is open to those from all and no faith backgrounds.

The embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain has warmly extended an invitation for a limited number of Network members to an iftar, at the Embassy of Bahrain in London.
This event is open to those of all and no faith backgrounds.

Women in Conflict Zones and Developing Nations
With International Lawyer from eyeWitness to Atrocities, Nadeshda Jayakody
In collaboration with SOAS UN Society, we are hosting an International Women’s Day Special event. Nadeshda Jayakody, international human rights lawyer and legal advisor at eyeWitness to Atrocities, is joining us for a discussion on Women in Conflict Zones & Developing Nations. With extensive experience in international human rights, humanitarian law, and transitional justice, Nadeshda will share insights on documenting atrocities and advocating for justice, through her work with NGOs and the UN in Iraq, Sri Lanka, Australia, New York, and London.
In Iraq, Nadeshda served as Legal Advocacy Coordinator at Yazda in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, focusing on justice for Yazidi survivors of ISIS crimes. She played a crucial role in documenting international crimes, advocating for survivor-centred transitional justice, and pushing for the criminalization of atrocity crimes within Iraqi law.

Visit to the Iraqi Cultural Centre in London
This visit presents a valuable opportunity to gain insights into Iraqi affairs, engage with diplomats and officials from the Embassy of Iraq, and deepen our understanding of Iraq’s culture and the role of its diplomatic mission in the United Kingdom.

In Conversation with His Excellency Nicolas Hopton
Presenting an evening in discussion with H.E. Nicolas Hopton. Through a talk and a Q&A session, H.E. will provide insights from his exceptional professional experience as former Ambassador to Libya (2019-21), Iran (2015-18), Qatar (2013-15), and Yemen (2012-13). The event will be held on 25th February at 6.15pm at SOAS University.
This event has been organised in partnership with the SOAS United Nations Society.
